Auckland Transport // Bus Driver Appreciation Day
THANKS DRIVER!!!
This heartwarming campaign for Auckland Transport transformed Digital Out-of-Home screens into a city-wide salute, celebrating the essential service provided by local bus drivers.
On ‘Bus Driver Appreciation Day,’ we leveraged real-time GPS data to deliver a highly personalised and impactful message, turning an operational function (bus tracking) into an act of public recognition. This DCO execution moved beyond standard messaging, connecting a vast city network to the individuals who make it run.
In collaboration with the legends at Lumo Digital Outdoor and MBM, we helped execute a complete takeover of key Auckland DOOH sites, programming the screens to dynamically display a bus driver’s name just as their bus passed by. This was a sophisticated, hyper-local deployment of DCO, tracking the GPS of specific bus routes and using that proximity to trigger the targeted creative.
This initiative showcases the power of our DCO platform to use operational data, like bus GPS locations, for creative storytelling. By integrating bus tracking information, we were able to create a highly emotive and personalised ‘hello’ that was seen by the driver and the public alike. It highlights how real-time data integration can deliver a deeply human touch to the typically automated world of DOOH, reinforcing brand values and community connection.
